Okay – you’re probably wondering why I put a marijuana article under the sports betting header. No, it wasn’t by accident. Both marijuana and sports betting legislation share a commonality under federalism / states’ rights. Typically the GOP has favored states’ sovereignty. It has also opposed marijuana use and gambling. It will be interesting to see how this conflict is resolved.
